South Melbourne is a vibrant and dynamic community, that embraces
culture and heritage. The inner-city neighbour-hood is connected to
the Melbourne CBD and the City Of Port Phillip. It’s existing character surrounds the community with a thriving
environment allowing residents and visitors to engage with nature. Giving residents, workers and visitors a space to eat, rest, socalise
and play.

The objective was to establish a conducive environment that facilitates community growth and development. This entails the creation of communal spaces designed for connection and socialisation, as well as dedicated areas to foster engagement with families and promote healthy lifestyles. Moreover, the plan includes the development of both private and social spaces interconnected by safe passages.

Zone 2 Connectivity
Zone 1 Lifestyle

The precinct is strategically divided into three seamlessly integrated zones. The design incorporates open and free-flowing passages to facilitate effortless movement throughout the site, empowering users to curate their unique journey across all destinations. This approach not only promotes ease of navigation but also encourages individuals to connect with surrounding green spaces. Notably, the central square features small laneways of grass, ensuring a continuous and unobstructed transition between opposite zones, fostering a harmonious flow between spaces.
